In this text we summarize the remarkable event Wirtschaftsdialog Indien "Doing Business in India", which was organized by Saxony Trade & Invest and KNPP-Partner Markus Hoffmann-von Wolffersdorff as head of the Saxon Chapter of the German-Indian-Round Table Network.

On 8th March 2023 the Indo-German business event "Doing Business in India" at the Congress Centre of Messe Leipzig took place. The event was an official part of the Industrial Trade Fairs INTEC, Z and GRINDTEC from Messe Leipzig and was moderated by KNPP-Partner Markus Hoffmann-von Wolffersdorff. Dr. Thomas Richter from Saxony Trade & Invest was cordial welcoming around fifty participants from the industry and various public and economic institutions. Keynote-speaker was the Ambassador of India in Germany, H.E. Harish Parvathaneni, who referred in an excellent speech about the good political relations between India and Germany with recent achievements and joint governmental activities in the renewable energy sector, trade, climate protection and labor migration. The Ambassador highlighted the promising potentials of the Indian market for German companies, foremost in the green hydrogen and the IT-sectors. Mr. Dirk Matter, Director of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce in Germany, presented the latest facts and figures about Indo-German-trade and he gave useful recommendations for midsize-companies from Central Germany, which are interested on the Indian market. Mr. Dirk Bräunlich, Director Sales & Business Development Asia from the known Saxon company VON ARDENNE GmbH, referred in a very interesting presentation about the reasons of the company to invest in India and his operational experiences. Mr. Michael Passi, Managing Director of the Saxon company CLEANTEC LIGHTING GmbH presented his personal and professional experiences in Indo-German business with its highlights and challenges. The official part was followed by a networking-session with snacks and drinks amongst the speakers, organizers and participants, were new contacts had been made and experiences exchanged. Some of the participants met later again at the evening event "Business Partners in Dialogue" from the IHK Leipzig in the stylish DA CAPO venue, were Mr. Gaurav Sharma, First Secretary of the Indian Embassy gave a welcoming speech to the international audience, followed by a dinner and interesting conversations until late evening. This Indo-German business event was fostering the bilateral business between India and Saxony and it became very clear, that India as the largest global democracy with its solid economic growth is a superb destination in Asia for German companies, which are interested to diversify their international business in of the largest global markets.
